Our Story

We started BASIC to bring chocolate back to its roots.

Chocolate wasn't always candy. Somewhere along the way it became sweeter, more processed, and less about cacao. We're two chocolate lovers who went looking for better — and decided to make it.

We don't add more. We choose better.

Why we started

“We love chocolate as much as you do. But being health-conscious, we couldn't have it every day.”

So we went looking for better — and found that what we'd always eaten wasn't really chocolate. It was cocoa powder, palm oil, and refined sugar. We learned cacao was once treated as a superfood, and what sits on shelves today is nothing like it once was.

That quest is why we started BASIC — for chocolate lovers who happen to be intentional too.

What we believe

Better isn't more.
It's less, chosen well.

We choose cacao, not sugar.

The bean leads every bar. Sweetness supports it — it never takes over.

We choose two ingredients, not a long label.

Cacao and dates. Everything you can read in one breath, and nothing you can't.

We choose small batches, not shortcuts.

Slow-crafted, so every note of the cacao actually makes it to you.

We choose honest, not preachy.

We're the intelligent friend introducing you to real chocolate — not a nutritionist.

Who it's for

For the intentional.

Not a type. A mindset. The people who choose the ordinary routine, done consistently — and live all the more fully for it.

01

They read labels

Before it goes in the basket, they know exactly what's in it.

02

They invest in themselves

Quality over quantity — in what they buy and how they live.

03

Disciplined, not boring

Ordinary routines by day; concerts, travel and hobbies that feed the soul.

04

Intentional by nature

Every choice is a choice. Nothing left on autopilot.

Honestly? Not for everyone. If you don't care what's inside — or how it tastes — we're probably not your brand.

Intentional chocolate. Intentional indulgence.
For intentional people.

Where we draw the line

Things we'd never do.

RUBBISH IN, RUBBISH OUT
01

Choose bad ingredients

Rubbish in gives rubbish out. We'd rather make less than cut a corner on quality.

02

Hide behind refined sugar

No refined sugar to mask a cheap bean. Dates do the sweetening; cacao stays the hero.

03

Add preservatives

No preservatives, no palm oil, no emulsifiers. If it doesn't belong in chocolate, it's out.

04

Mass-produce

Small batches only. Slow-crafted, so nothing about the flavour ever gets rushed.
